Mitchell Greene a small business lead, serves in an advisory and consultative capacity for numerous non profits, small businesses, procurement contracts and government agencies. Greene conducts programmatic, compliance and fiscal assessments of nonprofit organizations that have been awarded Community Economic Development Grants by the US Department of Health and Human Services Office of Community Services. Greene also conducts workshops for and provides training to OCS DCDP staff.
Greene previously served as the Programs Director for the Greater Newark Business Development Consortium (GNBDC). In this capacity Greene served as a loan officer as well as developed and conducted entrepreneurial training programs for entrepreneurs. He also provided procurement and technical assistance services to the organization’s clients.
While employed at GNBDC, Greene oversaw the daily operations of CDFI business development programs. He was responsible for managing both relationships with borrowers and a community development loan portfolio. He engaged in the underwriting of both community development and microloans.
Prior to that Greene served as the Project Director for the New Jersey Statewide Minority Business Development Center (NJSMBDC). The center provided consultative services and procurement certification assistance to small businesses throughout the state of New Jersey. While at the MBDC he managed and was the lead consultant in an office that served 250 clients per year. In this position he assisted small businesses secure 75 million dollars in financing as well as procurement contracts.
A graduate of Morehouse College and North Carolina Central University School of Law, Greene has been professionally involved in lending, law and small business development for over thirty years.
